So you are interested in Little Athletics?
The low-down...
Caulfield Little Athletics Summer season runs between September and March each year.
Summer season, or Track and Field season generally runs on a Saturday morning from 8am until 11:30am (approx).
There are some Friday night Twilights due to the track being unavailable, or a Major event scheduled on the Sunday.
We run a 4-week rotating program for the Under 7 to Under 15 age groups, and the kids do approx 6 events each morning depending on their age groups.
For the littlies: U6, we run an On track skills session. The children participate in a variety of games and activities, designed to teach them the correct skills necessary,
using age friendly equipment to be just like the big kids! Our under 6 kids also get to venture onto the big track when ever possible to have a race on the main straight,
a put of the shot or even a long jump in the pits!
Our main focus at little aths is not to win, but rather to "Be your best", improve your own personal best results.
We offer 2 training sessions during the week, most likely on a Monday and Tuesday evening from 4:15 till 5:30pm (subject to change). All kids are encouraged to attend training sessions,
so they can be taught correct techniques, and improve their skills. There is also Relay training for those who wish to join our
relay squad. Training is of course optional, and inclusive of your registration fee.
In the winter season, if you are keen, Caulfield Little Athletics runs the Cross-Country season with Bayside Cross-Country.
Our home ground is at Bald hill Park in Clarinda however we also have the odd run at Duncan Mackinnon Reserve and
the Hampton Foreshore just to mix it up a bit!
The Cross-Country season runs from April till July on a Saturday morning for approximately 1.5hrs.
Your registration fee covers the summer season, and the insurance or VLAA portion of the winter or cross-country season if you wish to continue on.
Little aths is heaps of fun, it’s about keeping fit, making friends, and "being your best".
Why not come down and have a complimentary "try" session during the season, and see if Little Aths is for you... Come on give it a go!
Which Club should I Join?
At Caulfield LAC we have three clubs. Beauville, Glen Orme, and South Caulfield. In past times the clubs
competed against each other during the season, but times have changed with the focus now firmly on; being your best
and achieving your own personal bests. All three clubs proudly display their own athlete's personal best tallies each week.
You may join any of the three clubs, children tend to join the club that their friends are in, or simply because of
the colour of the T-shirt they wear!
